Bromsgrove Rovers 1 Stourbridge 1
Rovers and Stourbridge will meet again on Tuesday night after an exciting draw in the FA Cup first qualifying round at the Victoria Ground.
It was probably a fair result, although Rovers had a goal disallowed four minutes into injury time when Jemiah Richards forced the ball in, but Matt Gardiner was adjudged to have pushed a visiting defender.
Rovers goal came on 17 minutes when Cameron Jones crossed from the right and Stourbridge's defence failed to clear and Danny Scheppel turned it in for his first goal since joining from Evesham.
It was mainly Stourbridge the rest of the half, getting behind the Rovers' defence a number of times Ryan Rowe twice sending shots wide.
There was also a talking point 25 minutes when Marlon Walters appeared to make an off the ball challenge on Drew Canavan.
He then appeared to carry on the incident and, with Canavan on the ground, the rest of the players were involved in some unsightly scenes, with the outcome a booking for Walters and McKenzie.
Right on the stroke of half time, Mark Owen put a weak shot in but it bobbled along the ground and Solly just managed to turn it wide.
The second half was a bit less exciting but Stourbridge equalised on 49 minutes when Drew Canavan fired in a free kick which Solly could only punch out to Sam Rock.
Although there was a suspicion of him controlling the ball with his arm, nothing was given and Rock crashed the ball home.
James Dyson put a header just wide on 50 minutes and the game then turned into a midfield battle, with only half chances for each team, both of them unwilling to commit any possible mistakes that might settle the tie.
The best chance came at the end for Richards, but it was disallowed for the push by Gardiner.
