EVITA is the next big production on stage at Birmingham’s Hippodrome Theatre, which is bound to keep the bookings flowing following the sell-out weeks of the summer spectacular that was We Will Rock You.
Opening next Monday Evita will feature Seamus Cullen, the popular finalist from BBC TV’s Any Dream Will Do, in the role of Che.
Over the years Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s brilliant masterpiece of this tale of love at the top of Argentinian life has dazzled audiences worldwide, especially as it contains such memorable and classic songs as You Must Love Me, Another Suitcase in Another Hall and, of course, the unforgettable Don't Cry For Me Argentina.
Evita is on at the Hippodrome from October 5 to 17.
There's also a musical being staged at Wolverhampton’s Grand Theatre next week. This is the South Staffs Musical Theatre Company’s production of My Fair Lady. This runs from Tuesday, October 6, through to Saturday, October 10.
The following week the Little Shop of Horrors opens its doors and will provide plenty of fun.

This irreverent show was a huge hit on the radio a good many years ago and has transferred well to the stage. Be prepared for plenty of innuendo and double entendres, and plenty of laughs too.
The show opens on Monday (October 5) for a week.
