Rovers had the best of starts at Holloways Park,after just 66seconds Omar Spence headed Rovers into the lead.
Four minutes later the scores were level after Danny Jordan turned home a Paul Edgeworth left wing cross.
Rovers retook the lead in the 29th minute after Substitute Gary Ray was upended in the penalty area by Chris Herron. Danny Scheppel sent goalkeeper Ricky Perks the wrong way to score.
The lead lasted until the second minute of time added on when Simon Martin ghosted in to head past Karl Lewis from close range.
Slough took the lead for the first time in the match on 55 minutes Herron fired in from the left hand side of the box, lewis at full stretch parried away but Steve Sinclairfired home from an acute angle.
Rovers were delt a blow inthe 66th minute after Paul Lloyd recieved his second booking and Rovers were reduced to ten men.
Rovers were gifted a chance to equalise in the 69th minute when Mr Kilbride pointed to the spot after adjudging Dean Harper had handled in the area but Scheppel blazed high over the crossbar.
Spence was then denied by Perks's finger-tips after he tried to lob the goalkeeper after 73 minutes.
Let off for Rovers in the 82nd minute after a defensive mix-up let in substitute Tyron Sealey in on goal but he screwed his effort horribly wude.
Rovers continued to battle but just could not find the equaliser.
