North Midlands Shield Quarter final
DROITWICH RFC crashed out of the North Midlands Shield after Kidderminster Carrolians edged them out at the Glynn Mitchell Memorial Ground on Saturday.
A second half fight back by Droitwich's Worcestershire rivals made sure they will end the season without a trophy.
Windy weather in Droitwich made the game difficult to play and neither side could get to grips with the game.
Spa had to resist pressure by Kidderminster and good defending by James Davies and Steve Poke kept them at bay.
After a scoreless first half Droitwch's opponents opened the scoring with a penalty. The home side replied though when powerful ball carrying run by Nick Godfrey set up Ben Cotterell for a try.
But Spa's lead was short lived as a second penalty by Kidderminster edged them ahead, before a try sealed Droitwich's defeat.
