Droitwich u16's 29, Old Halesonians u16's 5 ENJOYING a fine start the season, along with their seniors, is Droitwich's under 16 side.
Despite having a number of players away on county duty and elsewhere, Droitwich started off strongly with in excess of 90 per cent of the first half played in their opponents half.
Harry Baillie opened the scoring when he powered over under the posts and did the same minutes before half time to give Droitwich a 14-0 lead at the break.
The second half started off as the first finished with Droitwich pressing to increase their advantage, which they did through Danny Garner who linked up well with Shaun Hooper to crash over.
Old Hales struck back through an interception mid way through the second half only to see Luke Harris and Chris Rouse put Droitwich further ahead moments later.
This was a good performance despite Droitwich making numerous handling errors among their ranks, however there were excellent performances from Connor Davies, Jacob Phillips and Dan Wilkinson. The joint man of the match was awarded to Hooper and Rouse.
Droitwich RFC under 8's had another two impressive victories in this week's games, firstly beating Chaddesley Corbett 35-15 with tries from Matthew Townsend (2), Rhys Samuel(2), Dion King (2) and William Neale, and followed that with a resounding 50-15 victory over Old Halesonians with tries from James Henry (3), Jake Finch (2), George Probyn (2), Alec Foster, Harry Guy and Thomas Jallands.
