MADAM - Through the medium of your newspaper I should be grateful if I could express my dissatisfaction that the First bus service on the Salt Route, recently featured in the Droitwich Advertiser, was changed from a half hourly to one an hour service from January 26, this year without any obvious advance notice.
As a regular passenger this service which always seemed well used I find this difficult to understand and believe it will inconvenience a large section of the public as there is no alternative on this route into Birmingham except to use the railway, which has obvious limitations.
In addition to this the service is now single deck buses and on the bus that I took it was standing room only from Bromsgrove into Birmingham.
Also it is not unknown for buses to fail which now would result in a wait for up to two hours for the next one.
At a time when the govt is spending more money improving local bus services this change seems totally unjustified and I am amazed as to why the contract was awarded on this conditions.
Thank you.
Yours sincerely
D. Bennett
