MADAM - Ever since Artrix opened in 2005 (to a classic design by architect, Glenn Howells) it has been at the heart of the cultural life of Bromsgrove and with a wide variety of shows it has catered for all tastes in the community.
Bromsgrove's Artrix Theatre forced to shut for good
I have been involved in organising classical music events since its opening and for our weekends of complete Beethoven and Shostakovich quartets we have drawn audiences from throughout the United Kingdom.
It proved the ideal venue as with excellent acoustics and sightlines it pleased both audiences and performers.
A further bonus was that the studio was used for serving meals to the artists and audience and this generated a real hub for interaction between the two.
Andy Woods was the first inspirational Director and he would be horrified that his work and that of his successors might be thrown away.
Yours faithfully,
Jim Page
