I CAME to Droitwich in 1960 and was stationed at Witton Camp for two-and-a-half years.
I loved living in the town. Lots of little shops, people passed the time of day with you, you got to know most people by their first names and where they lived. As a ‘foreigner’ I was always welcomed whereever I went. Like myself a lot of ‘Signals’ married local people and stayed in Droitwich. I am over 70-years-old now – 48 years of my life spent in Droitwich, so I suppose I am one of the Hill-billies, referred to by Mr Keyton-Leys. I presume he has not lived in Droitwich for too long or he would not be having a go at the lovely Spa people.
