IT seems Droitwich readers took the bait expertly laid by Wychavon, to divert attention from it secretly selling off town assets.
Unlike Mr Leyton-Keys (Sep 3) or Jack Hegarty (July 9), I prefer facts to insults and call on either for straight answers to these questions about the sale of Covercroft car parks and Winnetts Lane to the developers.
Exactly how much did Wychavon sell this area for without any standard development bonus clause? In their recent investigations what current true value have Wychavon's independent auditors placed upon the site? Why did Wychavon’s managing Director wrongly tell papers they still owned this land and his planning officers inform councillors the same?
Spa readers should ask why none of their councillors have written to demand an apology from these Droitwich detractors?
They must wonder if other public buildings, car parks, or green spaces have been given away by Wychavon at knock-down prices?
