I FEEL I must throw open the problem of dangerous parking in Crabtree Lane especially and also Church Road, in Bromsgrove.

Crabtree Lane, which is a main thoroughfare, has quite a sharp bend, just up from the junction of Recreation Road and cars are parked all along the cemetery side of this bend, cutting traffic down to one and a half lanes. It’s a blind corner and an accident waiting to happen, because inconsiderate drivers still drive at speed around this bend into oncoming traffic.

Buses and heavy goods vehicles use this road and, as a driver, I have had to mount the pavement to get around them coming towards me at speed around the bend. Church Road is just the same. It has a blind bend about 120 yards down from Crabtree Lane and local residents and visitors to nearby houses, including those walking into town, park on this bend.

It’s about time the council and county highways acted on this. I have previously contacted them over these problems. They seem blindfolded by the fact it would push the parking problems elsewhere rather than avoid someone getting killed or injured!

Nobody should be allowed to park on a bend in the road which impairs other drivers’ vision to oncoming traffic. Some drivers just don't have common sense!
