President Margaret Tanner welcomed members to the September meeting. Following supper, Honor Craig introduced the speaker Tonia Shadforth, who gave a most interesting talk about her work with the Cinnamon Trust. This voluntary organisation, named after the founder’s dog and founded in 1985, helps people look after their pets should they become unable to do so through ill health, hospitalisation or infirmity.
A vote of thanks was given by Freda James.
In the business part of the meeting, Margaret reported on the summer visit to the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas.
Eve reported on the projected opening of a Macmillan information pod at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital. Treasurer June Green had copies of the accounts for the last Inner Wheel year in which the club gave over £4,500 to charities at home and abroad. The joint church service with Rotary will be in the spring.
