KIDDERMINSTER will be kicking themselves this week after letting rivals Ombersley off the hook.
Having posted a target of 150 for eight, Kidderminster had Ombersley on the ropes in reply at 92 for six.
But Kidderminster couldn't force their advantage home and finally ended up suffering a two wicket reverse as a result.
Runs proved at a premium throughout, but Kidderminster appeared well placed after skipper Neil Pinner plundered 43 with the bat.
Chris Steele kept the momentum going with a belated 35 not out in the face of some accurate bowling from Ombersley's former Worcestershire and Hampshire allrounder Gareth Andrew who followed up his previous week's eight wicket haul by taking four for 24 while former county player George Panayi picked up two for 15.
Ombersley initially struggled in reply but Liam Gwynne with 35 and Richard Jones on 25 steadied the innings.
Kidderminster were then undone by a dogged eighth wicket partnership between Tom Brown on 23 not out and Dave Brazier who scored 21 not out as the pair guided Ombersley home with four overs to spare despite the efforts of Liam Weston who finished with figures of three for 32.
Barnt Green were forced to batten down the hatches as they finished on the wrong side of a draw with Knowle and Dorridge.
Alex Phillips provided a patient 67 from 120 balls as Knowle and Dorridge posted an imposing target of 199 for eight from a reduced 50 overs.
Phillips found support from former Middlesex and Leicestershire player Neil Dexter who added 31 while wicketkeeper James Middleton made 30.
Oxfordshire seamer Robbier Shurmer again proved pick of Barnt Green's bowling attack by taking four for 63 while Adam Hines captured two for 63.
But Barnt Green were soon forced on the defensive in reply after being rapidly reduced to 17 for five after swing bowler Chris Cheslin caused early carnage by claiming four for 25.
From that point. it was a case of digging in as the Green managed to bat the game out by finishing on 78 for eight.
Premier Division Two leaders Halesowen had their contest with Wem wiped out after the Shropshire side were struck by COVID issues.
As a result, the Birmingham League's Covid strategy has been triggered with the match declared void.
It means this season's Premier Two campaign will now be decided on an average points per game, rather than total points scored.
While Halesowen were left kicking their heels, Himley were able to close the gap with a four wicket win over Bromsgrove.
Ashley Newfield knocked off 63 runs for Bromsgrove who batted their way to a total of 156 all out.
Saul Anstey stemmed the flow of runs by snapping up four for 26 while the tireless Jamie Turner took three for 38.
But Bromsgrove had failed to put enough runs on the board as Himley raced to 160 for six in reply.
Ollie Walker was promoted to opening bat and struck 42 but it was reliable skipper Ollie Westbury who laid the foundation for victory, the former Worcestershire player plundering 47 not out despite the effort of Herefordshire seamer Connor Smith who finished with three for 25.
