An 88th minute goal denied Bromsgrove Sporting all three points in the Worcestershire Derby on Monday, as they drew 1-1 with Redditch United.
Jamie Molyneux put the Rouslers in the lead 12 minutes in, but it was a former Halesowen Town teammate who brought the home side level, as Jamie Ashmore headed home from close range writes Max Banner.
Molyneux broke the deadlock with a well taken effort; from an acute angle, the winger fired home stylishly into the bottom corner.
The 20th minute saw Romario Martin shoot narrowly wide for Redditch, whilst Sporting's Joe Willis had a pop from range six minutes later that Kieran Boucher gathered easily.
Redditch had a couple more chances late in the half, with Tiago hitting a free kick straight at Aaron Clayton and Charlie Williams missing the target with a header from deep inside the area.
Chances were sparse in truth throughout the second half. Two minutes in, a Sporting header was blocked into the path of Nathan Hayward, who volleyed over.
Martin had a 57th minute shot saved comfortably by Clayton, with Sporting's Will Shorrock shooting high and wide 10 minutes later.
Redditch's free weekend and Sporting's gruelling win over St Ives Town on Saturday may ultimately have told with the equaliser, as a ball into the area was headed into the bottom corner by Ashmore with just two minutes of normal time remaining.
