A TOM McGlinchey strike was the difference between Coalville Town and Bromsgrove Sporting on Saturday afternoon as the Ravens ran out 1-0 winners.
The Southern League Premier Division Central game's only goal came 33 minutes in courtesy of McGlinchey slotting the ball into the bottom corner from inside the box.
Bromsgrove's Peter Abimbola and Coalville's Scott McManus both had early shots on goal blocked before Tim Berridge scuffed a 22nd-minute effort wide for the home side.
The match winner came 11 minutes later via McGlinchey easing the ball into the net with a neat finish.
McManus almost doubled the lead soon after but his header from a free-kick was guided straight into Ollie Taylor's grasp.
The lively Terell Pennant, Coalville's man of the match, had a couple of chances for the mid-table hosts inside the first 20 minutes of the second half with both of these saved smartly by Taylor.
Sporting's Miro Pais put a decent opportunity over the bar with 15 minutes remaining before McGlinchey put a free-kick over the bar nine minutes later.
The Rouslers ended the game, watched by a crowd of 424, with a flourish as Pais had a shot saved in the first minute of added time.
It was followed by captain Luke Rowe putting a terrific corner into the box that somehow managed to evade everybody despite defender Ben Richards-Everton's best efforts to get on the end of it.
A selection of Sporting officials chose on-loan defender Mark Derricott as their standout for the visitors' man of the match.
Sporting manager Tim Flowers admitted: "There were a few players on both sides in the game against Coalville that were absolutely running on empty at the end.
"We have created chances, we try to play on the front foot and get the ball into areas that will hurt opposition defenders."
Sporting went on to lose 2-1 at home to AFC Telford United in front of 949 fans on Easter Monday with Nathan Blissett scoring their goal on 34 minutes.
A fingertip save from a Billy Shaw effort shortly after Blissett's opener denied Sporting a second and Telford took the win with goals from Remi Walker and then Jared Hodgkiss four minutes from time.
Sporting make the short trip to county rivals Alvechurch on Saturday (3pm).
