Over 20 young people signed up for Barnt Green Sailing Club's first Junior Training course of the year.
From Tuesday 2 to Thursday, April 4, trainees took part in the Royal Yachting Association's (RYA) recognised course, gaining valuable skills under the guidance of the club’s volunteer instructors.
The courses follow the RYA’s levels one to four format, providing students with goals and recognisable qualifications upon completion.

Gordon Padmore, a spokesperson for the club, said: "I would encourage anyone to sail, as it is the perfect opportunity for all to get active through sport participation, improve their mental health and well-being, learn a new skill and develop confidence in communication with others."
There is further opportunity to get involved, with the next Junior Training course planned for May.
The club's home, the Bittell Estate, will be holding an Open Day on Saturday, May 11 from 11am to 4pm.
Information about a wide range of sporting activities and courses, including sailing, fishing, paddleboarding, and natural history, are available online (www.sailingbarntgreen.com).
