A REPLAY was required to split Belper Town and Bromsgrove Sporting after the sides drew 2-2 in their Emirates FA Cup first qualifying round encounter in sunny Derbyshire.

Saturday's match was a game of two braces — Harry Draper headed the hosts into a first-half lead before Theo Robinson levelled with just over 20 minutes remaining.

Draper looked like he had scored the winner in the 81st minute but there was a late twist as Robinson slotted home a penalty in the fifth minute of added time to ensure a replay at Bromsgrove on Tuesday this week (7.45pm).

Despite Draper's first goal coming 23 minutes in, it was the first real chance in a lacklustre beginning.

He leapt highest in the box to send Curtis Burrows' pinpoint cross into the top corner.

Sporting's best chance of the opening 45 minutes came just before half-time as Robinson hit the post from the edge of the area.

A trio of substitutes came on for Bromsgrove at the interval and the game swung in the Rouslers' favour.

The 57th minute saw Reece King cap a good run with a blocked shot that looked destined for the net.

Moments later Jamie Meddows had a strike from 20 yards well saved by Dan Moore before having a couple of blocked attempts.

The deserved equaliser came in the 69th minute as half-time substitute Kieran Cook found Robinson inside the box and he had a simple effort to slot home.

After the leveller the hosts enjoyed their own spell of pressure.

Paulo Aguas' thunderous 74th-minute strike was well saved by Charlie Price who then kept out a Jacob Gratton one-on-one shot two minutes later.

Price made an incredible instinctive save from a Draper strike nine minutes from time but the Belper frontman was on hand to knock the rebound in.

Robinson almost netted his second with an audacious lobbed effort from distance in the 84th minute.

He would have to wait 11 minutes longer to double his tally in dramatic fashion.

Half-time addition Harry Crook was brought down in the area and Robinson coolly placed the penalty into Moore's bottom right-hand corner.

Sporting visit Biggleswade Town in Southern League Premier Division Central on Saturday (3pm) and AFC Telford United next Tuesday (7.45pm).
