The Rouslers had the best chance to score in the 29th minute with a penalty after a handball offence, but Meddows' effort from 12 yards was saved by Leiston goalkeeper, Billy Johnson.

In the 41st minute, Jamar Loza's strike was blocked by Patterson, and two minutes later, Sporting's captain, Luke Rowe, clipped the crossbar with a free-kick.

Rowe had another free-kick attempt in the second half, but it was comfortably saved by Johnson.

The home side had few opportunities, with their best chance coming in the 74th minute when Ben Fowkes hit the side netting.

Rowe's ambitious attempt to lob Johnson from around 40 yards out also failed to find the net.

Reece King nearly secured the win for Sporting in the sixth minute of added time, but his close-range header went wide, forcing the Rouslers to settle for a point.

Jack Newell was named Sporting's Player of the Match.

Before the game, Bromsgrove announced that Smith had resigned as manager.

This leaves the club in search of a new manager as they continue their league campaign.
