THE axe has fallen on Damion Jarrett and Courtney Shaw, as new boss Rod Brown continues to rebuild his Bromsgrove Rovers squad.
The wing duo have been released from Rovers, with Brown deciding they were surplus to requirements.
Jarrett only joined the club in pre-season and scored in Rovers’ only win of the new campaign, a 1-0 success at Bedworth.
Shaw was among a host of new players drafted in to try and save the Greens from relegation last season, but the former Stafford Rangers man failed to hold down a regular spot in the team.
Brown said: “For certain reasons they are not in my plans.
“I have got quite a few players and I am looking to bring in some players.
“I do not want to make wholesale changes, but I’ve got to make some because the squad is not performing.”
Brown has also made changes to his backroom team, with the release of coach Ian Weaving.
Weaving was brought to the club by former boss Duane Darby last season, and alongside Dave Connell, he guided Rovers’ second string to the Central Conference Cup.
Brown added: “I would like to thank him for his work at the club.
“But there were two people doing a job there that one person could do and I have to look at the wages.”
