BROMSGROVE race ace Scott Mead enjoyed mixed results in the latest round of the Superteen series.
Mead had recorded 10th and 11th place finishes in the first two races but tumbled off in the third when chasing a top ten spot.
Despite the set-back the gifted young rider escaped injury, although the forks on his Asprillia motorbike had been broken.
After setting an impressive time of one minute and 24.3 seconds in practice on Saturday, Mead stepped it up a gear but could only qualify in 18th place after setting 1-22-5.
In the first race, he had a flying start, jumping straight to 13th, before more sharp overtaking on the sixth lap saw him rise to 11th place.
On the final corner of the last lap he then squeezed past a rival to take 10th place and set an impressive fastest lap of 1-21-6.
In the second race, Mead once again made an excellent start, jumping from 18th to 14th place and finished in 11th overall.
On Sunday Mead jumped five places ahead to 13th after another impressive start.
By fourth lap he was in 11th and had recorded his fastest time of the weekend, 1-20-02, when disaster struck at 70 miles per hour and he lost control of the bike.
The rider escaped injury but with his front fork broken he was unable to continue in the race.
Mead will be aiming to end the season at Donnington Park on Sunday, October 18.
