BROMSGROVE Rovers boss Rod Brown is set for yet another raid on former club Redditch United, by bringing in striker Chris Hannah.
The former Walsall player has agreed terms in principale with the Greens and Brown is hopeful of completing a deal by the weekend.
Having been released by the Saddlers at the end of last season, Hannah joined Blue Square Premier Division new boys Kettering, where he spent the whole of the pre-season campaign.
He dropped down to join Redditch in the Blue Square North, but Gary Whild, manager of the Valley club, has made him available for transfer.
Rovers are without a game this Saturday, so Hannah must wait another week for his debut.
But he will compete with Luke Reynolds, Jermaine Clarke, Dean Curtis and Reece Styche for a starting place against Nuneaton Town on October 11.
Brown believes Hannah will add extra pace to his squad.
He said: “He is a lad that I have got more through a recommendation.
“I heard he was available, I phoned him up and I’ve heard nothing but good reports about him.
“He is very quick, he plays off the shoulder and he gets goals.”
The Greens boss hinted there may be more changes to the squad within the next seven days.
Meanwhile, ex-Rovers trio Duane Darby, Leigh Downing and Mark Benbown have all joined league rivals Stourport Swifts.
All three players featured in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Leamington.
