BROMSGROVE Rovers will play their first league game for three weeks when they entertain Nuneaton Town at The Victoria Ground on Saturday (3pm).

New boy Chris Hanna, from Redditch, is likely to make the starting line up after signing from Redditch United.

Rovers have been inactive due to being knocked out of the FA Cup, though they were due to travel to Coventry Sphinx in the Birmingham Senior Cup last night (Tuesday).

Nuneaton Town – who were formed after the demise of Nuneaton Borough at the end of last season – have made a solid start to their first season in the Southern League Division One Midlands.

They are currently sixth in the table but Rovers, who are on a run of two home wins in succession, can go above them in the table if they get the three points.

Meanwhile a fans’ forum on Monday night saw representatives of the management, board, supporters group and a fans’ consortium looking to buy into the club meet.

The forum heard an offer had been made of £32,000 by the consortium to chairman Tom Herbert, which had been rejected.

Herbert told the forum he personally was owed over £50,000, which had put into the club to keep it running.

He said he was happy to talk to the group looking to make a bid for the club and a meeting is likely to be arranged in the near future.

On the playing side manager Rod Brown said he was happy to be back at the club and was employing a 3-5-2 system in games as he believes it leads to flowing football.

Off the park, he expressed surprise at the level of fitness of the players when he took over and was working on this issue in training.

Rovers face Gloucester City at home in the first round of the FA Trophy on Saturday, October 18.
