A LAST-gasp equaliser denied Droitwich Spa victory as they held high-fyling Brereton Social to a 1-1 draw in the Midland Combination Division One on Saturday.

Sean Parish had fired Spa into the lead just before half-time and just when they had looked as though they had survived a late barrage, Brereton bagged a 93rd minute leveller.

Despite the defeat manager Tom Goss believes his side deserved more from the game.

“The draw felt like a punch in the solar plexus because their equaliser came so late,” said the manager.

“Apart from the result I was pleased with the performance.

“We deserved to take the lead and had chances to add to it.”

Spa take on Burntwood away from home in the league on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Droitwich’s reserves lost 3-0 to Chemlsley Town in Division Two.
